What A Wonderful World

Influx began in 2002 with the intent of bringing a jazz sound into the Grand Valley of Colorado. This goal has been reached over the course of time by staying true to the traditional jazz style, while incorporating nontraditional instrumentation. Tim's mandolin puts forth a unique sound not usually associated with jazz. Jason's saxophone broadens the pleasant sounding tones and melodic timbre. All the while, the foundation is held solid by Chris' bouncing bass lines and Duane's steady backbeat.

An audience listening, dancing and enjoying the InFlux sound is catapulted to the heights of excitement one moment and brought gently down to a comfortable rest the next. You will find yourself tapping your toes to the rhythm in anticipation of the next adventure into the InFlux experience.

Tim Currey - Mandolin

When Tim picked up the mandolin 20 years ago, he was listening to lots of traditional bluegrass and folk. Then he was turned-on to the likes of Grisman, Reinhardt, Grapelli, Burns, Bush -- they piqued his interest in Jazz. However, it was the advent of InFlux that gave Tim the opportunity to play and fall in love with this genre of music.

Jason McGlynn - Alto, Tenor and Baritone Saxophone

Jason has been playing music since elementary school. After an eight year hiatus, he started playing his sax again with a more enthusiastic fervor than ever. His blues and jazz training come across in his improvisation style with some flair for the odd notes and hidden themes.

Chris Krabacher - Bass

Native Coloradoan, trained classical violinist, playing music since 1953. Chris has been known to spout random philosophical and spiritual idioms and howl at the moon. A proud grandfather and fortunate to share the positive connections in this world of miracles. Chris is grateful to be able to share a sense of self through music.

Duane Moore - Drums

A veterinarian with a knack for rhythm, Duane has played his drums in rock, blues, and jazz bands since 1974. With a straght-ahead drum style and a pleasant smile he provides a strong backbone to the influx sound.
